About Me

I have over 25 years of experience in various aspects of drug development and am currently serving as an Executive Director and Statistics Head of Respiratory and Immunology Therapeutic Area at Merck Research Labs.  In my current role, I provide strategic, analytical, and managerial leadership for development of medicinal products for treatment and prevention of various diseases and help advance clinical research.

​Prior to joining Merck, I was at Penn State where I worked on various EPA funded research problems in environmental statistics and also taught undergraduate and graduate classes. Having started my statistical career in academia, as a faculty member at the Panjab University in India, and working now in industry, I appreciate the value various groups bring to solve the real world problems.  I am encouraged by the high level of collaboration across industry, academia, and government, with a common goal of saving human lives, during Covid pandemic, and such collaboration will always be needed to solve real world problems.

I am actively engaged in various statistical societies and am passionate about mentoring students and junior statisticians.  I am proud to have served on the ASA Board of Directors as its Treasurer and also as the President of the International Indian Statistical Association (IISA).  I am an elected Fellow of the ASA.
